Update on LIMITATIONS FOR TRAVELLING TO GUATEMALA FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM

Updated 19 April

The Government of Guatemala is taking measures to control the import of new strain/variant of coronavirus to the country to protect the health of its citizens.

Foreign travellers who have been in the United Kingdom, South Africa or Brazil in the preceding 14 days, will be restricted from boarding Guatemala-bound flights. The ban  is in place until April 30 and will be reviewed after that date.

These restrictions don’t apply to Guatemalans, permanent residents, Diplomats and crew members, as well as any entry of a humanitarian nature duly declared by the competent authority.

Those who have travelled within the last 14 days may enter Guatemala but will have to undergo a 10-day quarantine.

The restriction will apply to land, air and sea borders and will be in force until new provisions from the Guatemalan authorities take place.

It is highly recommended to contact the airline before flying.

Flight restrictions and measures are constantly being updated so we recommend contacting your airline before you travel.
