Tourism in Guatemala

Tourism is one of the most important activities in Guatemala. On economic terms, the tourism sector direct contribution to the GDP is 3% and the total contribution (direct and indirect) is 8.8%.

British tourists have become one of the main European group that visits the country. In 2017, 14,147 British nationals visit Guatemala and 16,453 in 2018. Sacatepéquez, Sololá, Petén, Guatemala City and Alta Verapaz are among their main destinations.
